Sidewalks
Lukas Hoffmann
Haus am Kleistpark presents ‘Sidewalks’ by Lukas Hoffmann, the first major solo exhibition of the internationally active artist in Berlin. On display are photographs from the last eight years.
Lukas Hoffmann works in urban spaces and explores the possibilities of photography between chance and calculation in his work. At the same time, the artist reflects on contemporary cultures of seeing, physicality and interpersonal interaction in the public sphere. Other themes include traces of temporality and its perception. Lukas Hoffmann's multifaceted work is characterised by conceptual stringency, impressive formal design, technical perfection and an interest in media theory in the field of tension between the reality of the depicted and the autonomy of the image.
